Spring Break

During spring break, we went to Charleston for a short stay!
Six years ago, Nathan and I wanted to go to Charleston for our anniversary, but we couldn't find any available rooms close to the beach. I was making reservations at the last minute and happened to find a room at the Middleton Inn, which was unfamiliar to us. The Middleton Inn was located about 30 or 40 minutes away from the beach, but we decided to give it a try because it was a short walk to the Middleton Plantation. If you stay at the Middleton Inn, you have free access to the plantation, gardens, and house museum during your stay. The Inn also has several nature trails around the Ashley river where you can find many alligators. We thought the boys would really enjoy the nature trails and the plantation, so we took them to the Middleton last week.

Day One:

We went for a bike ride to look for alligators!

Around the rice fields, we found PLENTY OF ALLIGATORS!!!
This is where they spotted their first alligator!

We were watching the alligators when Weston notices a wasp nest above my head! He knows I hate wasps!!!!

After our bike ride, we went to the lodge for our free drinks and appetizers.

Weston wanted to play a game of checkers and drink Mellow Yellow.
The boys playing croquet on the lawn.

They actually just wanted to use the mallets as weapons!

They also have horse stables at the inn, so we took the boys to see them after dinner.

This is a photo of the boys in their bike trailor. They were looking at the photos of all the animals you might find on the trails.
