PTO Program

Weston had his first PTO performance last month.  The Pre-K and Kindergarten students performed a nursery rhyme rock for the parents.  They had been practicing for a couple of months, but Weston was not originally happy about getting on stage.  He actually came home and told me that he had "stage fright," and he wasn't going to go to the performance. He made me promise not to tell his teacher that he was scared.  I told him I wasn't going to make him go, but I thought he would enjoy it if he did.  I encouraged him to at least try it once, and if performing on stage wasn't his thing, he didn't have to do it again.  As time went on, I could tell he was starting to get excited about it. He even came home and said he had a speaking part in it. What?!!! This is the boy who told me wouldn't get on stage at all!! A few weeks later, I got a note saying that Weston has a speaking part, so it was true. I told him I was really proud of him, but inside I was worried that he would back out at the last minute. Well, he didn't. He even went to school after getting up in the middle of the night with an upset stomach.  He threw up once, but he was determined that he was NOT going to miss the PTO performance.  I brought him to school late the next morning just so he could catch up on his sleep, and make sure he wasn't sick.  He made it through the school day without any illness, so he was able to make it to his first performance.
The students were asked to wear there pajamas for the performance.

Excited to see Brandon after his performance!

This is a video of his speaking part! It turned out that he didn't have a solo speaking part, but with a group of students from his class! Still, it was a big step for him, and we were very proud of him.  He said he had a GREAT TIME!
