Soup on a Hot Day

Weston still has a runny nose today. Nothing serious, but he has been really whiny. He has also been demanding some extra TLC. Around 10:00 he asked for a cookie, so I knew he was ready for lunch. I decided to make him some soup to help with his cold. It felt a little strange making soup on such a hot day. He slurped all of his "toup" down and asked me for some more 30 minutes later. I think he is enjoying the extra attention!

Things that go...

Weston has really grown to love cars, airplanes, buses, tractors, trucks, and trains. I am starting to find cars all over the house. Mostly, I find them in the kitchen. He has figured out that they move better in there. Yesterday, I gave him a new train that he can stack blocks on. He played with the train for almost an hour. He reminds me so much of Nathan when he puts blocks together. I took a few photos and videos of him playing with his cars and new train. He is turning into such a boy!

Making Ice Cream

This post is for Nana Evans. For Christmas, she gave us an ice cream maker. A couple of months ago she brought us some plants, including a mint plant for our garden. For Mother's Day, she sent me a book that had some recipes in it. With all of these things, I got an idea to make mint chocolate chip ice cream. I picked some fresh mint from the garden and used a recipe from the book she sent me. We then froze it in our ice cream maker. Weston spotted the chocolate chips and begged us for some. We thought we would show you a photo of our finished product. We didn't put green food coloring to make it look like the real thing. It was really good! I'm ready to try something else! Thank you for everything!

Swimming with Caroline

Keri invited Weston and me to go swimming at her neighborhood pool today. They have a really nice baby pool and an adult pool. Caroline was just as sweet to Weston as she was last week. First, we swam in the baby pool and Caroline gave Weston ALL of her pool toys. Weston really wanted to swim in the adult pool so he could jump off the steps. Caroline didn't want to get in the big pool so she patiently waited for us to swim. She just sat on the edge of the steps and did a few dances. After a while, she wanted Weston to chase her and he did! When she ran off, he would call for her by shouting "Care-leen!" He even said, "Golly!" when she kept running off. During the chase, Weston fell down and started crying. Caroline hugged and kissed Weston and asked if he was o.k.
We also ate a snack at the pool- that is when things got really cute between the two of them. When Weston had his mouth open, she would pop a goldfish cracker into his mouth. She made sure he had something to drink by giving him her sippy cup and her bottle of water. She also started running her fingers through his hair! So funny! Then she pulled out everything from Keri's bag and gave it to Weston. She knows how to treat a guy! We just hope Caroline doesn't catch Weston's cold! Thanks again for letting us spend the day with you!

Vacation Bible School

This week our church was having Vacation Bible School. Today they had a cookout and set up two water slides and a little pool. We had a lot of fun! Weston went fishing and went down the big slide with Nathan (once was enough). Nana and Papa watched Weston in the baby pool while Nathan and I went down the water slide. We had the best time! Around 1:00, Weston said he was ready to go night-night!

Grocery Shopping With Nana

Every couple of weeks, Weston and I go grocery shopping at the Commissary on Ft. Gordon with Nana. They have great prices on food and the best tasting meats. Weston loves the rocket ship buggies, but we have to get there early to get one. They go really fast! On Friday, Nana dropped me off at the front of the store so could I grab a cart before someone else got it. I took a few photos of Weston driving because it is rare that we get actually get a rocket ship. Nana, thank you for taking us to the Commissary! We love going with you!

Weston likes to create some drama every time we go to the store. Notice his arm is going through the wheel. His latest stunt is getting "stuck" and then asking for help. He does this at home too. He kept saying, "Oh no! Stuck! Stuck!" Last month he created drama by repeatedly putting a huge container of grape juice on his leg and then saying, "Ouch! Ouch!" so that people in the store give him attention.

Cousin Nolan's baseball game

My parents kept Weston today so I could buckle down on my homework. I spent most of my day typing, so I was really to get out of the house. After Nathan came home from work, we went to Nolan's baseball game. Nolan is the athlete in the family. He plays almost every sport! Weston loves going to his games so can run around. We usually spend most of the game running after him. He stayed close to Papa and aunt Tammy tonight. We had a nice time tonight even though it was HOT! We are not looking forward to the summer heat this year.

This is the lady that Weston loves to flirt with at the games! He is trying to give her food.

Weston found a bag of ice at the game. I swear he manages to get wet everywhere he goes! He also took Brandon's drink and drank all of it!
