Playing Blocks with Papa

When Nana and Papa come to visit, Weston will try anything to distract them from leaving. He will pull out every toy that he thinks that they will find interesting. Here he is pulling out all of his blocks.

Sitting at the Table

I usually feed Weston before Nathan gets home from work. This allows us to have a peaceful dinner. Well, the past week he has wanted to eat again when Nathan and I are eating. After several nights of climbing onto the chair next to me and asking for bites, I gave in and made Weston a plate. We really enjoyed his company!

Eating meatloaf, beans, and macaroni and cheese.

First Mother's Day Craft

On Wednesday, I took Weston to Chik-fil-a for lunch. When we got there, we discovered that they were doing Mother's Day crafts with the kids. Weston and I made a flower pot craft together. The kids got to put stickers on the pots and fill them with dirt. They gave us a packet of seeds to plant. Here is a photo of our pot.

Bonding with Bear

Today I noticed that Weston has been stuck to his bear like glue. Grandma Evans gave him this bear when he was 3 months old. I got out my camera this morning because I noticed that he was trying to brush the bear's teeth and I thought it was funny. As soon as I pulled my camera out, he quit brushing! Later I realized that he had not put the bear down all day. He gave the bear a ride on his tractor and read him some stories. At lunch he tried to feed him. I checked on him at nap time and there they were all snuggled up together.

Weston likes to lock the doors behind Nathan when he leaves for work. Bear is in the other hand!

You can see the toothbrush on the floor where he was brushing his teeth.

setting up our pool

I am not sure why we decided to go ahead and set up our pool this year, but we did. Maybe because our nephews have asked Nathan several times about setting up the pool and we know how much they loved it. We didn't want to let them down. Nolan even wrote about the pool in his school journal. You would have thought we put an Olympic size pool in our backyard the way he described it. This pool is the biggest pain and we are not sure how they keeping selling them. If you do not have the ground leveled precisely, the pool will collapse. Last year, Nathan dug up our grass with a shovel (with the help of both of our dads) to get the ground even. After lots of adjusting and filling up the pool about four times, we finally got it right. If you are considering buying a pool for your yard, take a good look at this pool and make sure you do NOT buy one that looks like this!
This stupid pool turned out to be A LOT of fun last year so we just had to put it up again. We haven't finished setting up yet, but it has already been a big hit with Weston. We have filled it halfway with water and it hasn't flopped yet. Everyone cross your fingers!

The pool looks like a big blob!

Little monkey

Last week Weston's climbing was driving me crazy. This week he has discovered how to swing. He likes to swing from our pedestal sink and the kitchen table. He has tried other pieces of furniture around the house but he can't manage to get the kind of swing he gets from the table and the sink. Today I caught him doing a one-handed swing from the sink while yelling "ooohh yeeeeeeaaaaaaaa!"

Spaghetti! Amen!

Spaghetti is one of Weston's favorite foods. He will only eat it if it is homemade. I have tried giving him the kind from a can or a jar but he will not touch it! Yesterday I made some and he was so excited that he kept saying "Amen!" This is what he says when he smells something good or if he is hungry and wants something to eat. You can see in the photos that he liked it so much he almost ate his hand in the process!
