Grandparents Day at School!

They celebrated Grandparents Day at Weston's school.  I volunteered to bring food and help set things up, so I got to take photos of the event. When the grandparents first arrived, the kids sang a song for them.  After, they ate a light breakfast and then made a hand print keepsake.

Wyatt knows exactly where the tools are in the classroom!  He makes himself at home!

Weston was really concerned that his friend didn't have any grandparents at school that day.  He insisted on having Papa help him make a hand print.

Fishing Trip With The Church!

On September 11th, our church went on a fishing trip to North Augusta.  Someone at our church is a member of a hunting/fishing club, so they have access to a private fishing pond.  The pond is surrounded by picnic tables and playgrounds, which is great for all of the kids. We had a cookout that day, played on the playground, and fished until evening.  We had a lot of fun!  Weston caught the first fish, and had the largest catch of the day! They took a special of photo of him for their club.  I missed him catching his fish because I was watching Wyatt on the playground. However, I hear he was very excited about it! We can't wait to go back next year!

Wyatt caught two breams, but I reeled it in for him.

This is the boys cleaning their fish at home!! When it came time for Weston to clean his catfish, he started crying.  He didn't want to eat his fish because he wanted him for a pet.  We told him that we didn't have a pond for him, so we offered to drive to pond near our house and let him go.  That would do!! Weston was worried someone else would catch him!  He must have cried for 2 hours. He begged Nathan to make a pond in our backyard for it so it could live with us. Finally, he told Nathan to the cook all of the other fish and he would taste it to see if it was good.  If it was good, he said he would agree to cleaning and frying his catfish. I guess if it was good enough, he could get over killing the fish!!! I can't believe his thought process sometimes!! Well, he took a bite of the other fish and thought it was great, so he gave Nathan the go ahead to eat his catfish as long as he could share it with Nana and Papa! So, they cleaned it, fried it, and ate ALL of the fish!!

Zoo Trip!

The weekend before last, we went to the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia!  We wanted to do something fun before Weston started school, so we decided to go to the zoo because Wyatt has never been there.  Also, I had zoo vouchers that expire in September, so we wanted to use them before the expiration date. We decided to spend the night in Columbia on Saturday so the boys could go swimming, and so we could get an early start at the zoo on Sunday. Again, we used Priceline to book our hotel room, and we were placed at the Hyatt. When we first arrived in Columbia, we checked in our hotel, and then went to the Sportsman Warehouse. Nathan loves to go shopping there and we thought the boys would have fun there too!! After shopping, Weston said he was in the mood for spaghetti, so we went to dinner at Carrabbas. We went swimming at the hotel after dinner, and the boys had a blast:) The next morning, we woke earlier and heading for the zoo before it got too hot!! We had a very nice time, even though it was a bit hot that day!!

We thought Weston looked like the redheaded bully in the movie, A Christmas Story!
can you see the resemblance?

A photo of Weston at Carrabbas. They give the kids dough to play with while they wait for their dinner now.

We were able to see the baby giraffes being bottle fed.  I think they were about 6 weeks old.

I think Wyatt enjoyed the aquarium the most!
