Scrounging for Change

Monday, at 7:00am, Weston begged me to take him to Walmart to buy a Fire Rescue Lego Boat. He saw this set at Walmart over the weekend, and he really wanted it. He is still obsessed with building, so he spends most of his day designing and creating things out of Legos or Trio Blocks. We would love to buy Weston everything he wants, but the toys he wants are expensive. Legos are not cheap! The Lego boat that he wants is around $50.00, so Nathan and I thought it would make a great birthday gift for him in September. I told Weston that it was too expensive, and he may have to wait until his birthday to get it. Well, Weston doesn't take "no" for an answer... at least not the first time you tell him. A few minutes later, I see Weston searching for coins in Nathan's junk box:) When Weston really wants something, he will try to work out any issues that get in his way.

"See! We have enough money to buy the boat!"

Weston then asks, "Do I need this many quarters to buy the Lego boat?"
I say, "You are going to need about 200 quarters to buy that Lego Boat."

Sadly, he found mostly pennies in Nathan's box.
"Promise me you will take me to buy the boat when I have enough money!!!!!"

Weston heads to his room to empty his piggy banks.

Calling daddy at work to ask for permission to open his piggy bank. Nathan made Weston a piggy bank from an oatmeal container and it was taped shut.
"I think we have enough!"

I love his persistence!!!! As much as I wanted to take him to Walmart after all of this, I finally told him I would take him after he fills his sticker chart. He has been working really hard to earn his stickers!! I will definitely post photos when we finally buy the Lego Fire Rescue boat.

Here is the boat he wants:

A game of beach ball anyone?

"Hit the beach ball with the food strainer" is Wyatt's new favorite game to play. He sure thinks it's funny!

Back to the Dentist!

Weston went to the dentist this morning! Nathan had the pleasure of taking him this morning, and he was nice enough to take the camera with them! This time, Weston had X-rays taken of his teeth!!!!!! Weston was really excited that they were going to take x-rays of his teeth because ask questions about his skeleton A LOT!!! He wonders where his skeleton is, and he wants to know if he can look at it. It is difficult to explain to a 3 year old that his skeleton is inside his body and there isn't any way to look at it other than to take photos of it. So, he was excited about the X-rays, even if it was just of his teeth and jaws!! Nathan said he did great and he doesn't have any cavities!

All done!!!

11 months old!

I can not believe that Wyatt will be ONE soon!!! Although it is exciting to watch him grow and change, I am really sad at the same time. It would be nice to see him as baby for just a little longer. He is just so sweet!

Wyatt's has flyaway hair because it is so fine. His hair doesn't have much weight to it, so it just blows in the breeze most of the time. In the photo below, I wet his hair and combed it down, but thought it looked silly on him. I am so used to it being fluffy!!!

I had to take another 11 month photo after his nap, because the photo above didn't look like the Wyatt we know . Much better!!!

He LOVES to point!!!

He also loves his Easter bunny!!!

Tammy's Birthday and Water Fountain Fun!

My sister turned 36 on July 14th! All of us went to dinner at the Cotton Patch Cafe for her birthday, and then the boys played in the fountain at the Riverwalk. We had a lot of fun!

Wyatt, where do you think you are going?

We hadn't planned on everyone getting in the fountain, but the boys were dying to get in the water!

Tammy, Nathan, and I didn't think it was fair that the kids were having all of the fun so we decided to play in the water too! It certainly beats standing in the heat!

Happy Birthday, Tammy!!!

Fun at Emma and Kaitlyn's house!

Ok, I am finally able to load photos on blogger again!!! Yea!!!! Last week I ran out of FREE space on blogger, and I finally had to pay to continue blogging! Luckily, it will only cost me $5.00 a year to load photos, so I guess it is not so bad! Anyway, I am now trying to catch up with all of my blog posts.
Last week, we went to Emma and Kaitlyn's house for swimming and lunch. Weston was really excited to go to Emma's house for the first time! He actually asked me for my car keys so that he could drive himself, because he didn't want to wait on me to get ready!! He said, "Well, I'll just drive myself, and you can stay here. I'm a good driver!" I'll bet he would have tried if I had handed him the keys. Anyway, both boys had a great time at their house! Gina, thanks for being brave enough to invite us all over!

With all boys in our family, I think Weston found it refreshing to play with girl toys for a change!

Gina made mac n cheese for lunch!

Lowe's and McDonald's

On Saturday, we took the boys to Lowe's to build a ball catcher. Even though the boys were sleep deprived from the sleepover, they all did great.

Wyatt wanted to use the hammer...

and throw everyone's ball!

When we arrived at Lowe's, we noticed that everyone was dressed in a shade of green-except Weston!

After Lowe's, we went to McDonald's!
