Building Kaleidoscopes

Last Saturday, we took Weston and Wyatt to the another Lowe's Kids Clinic. My parents brought Nolan and Brandon with us also. This weekend they were building kaleidoscopes.

Before the workshop, the boys had to try out the lawn mowers.

We love spring!

Our family gets really excited when spring comes around because we get to see all of our trees and flowers in bloom. We have spent a lot of time working in our yard over the past several years and it is nice to see our hard work pay off. Even though the trees/flowers only stay in bloom for a couple of weeks, we look forward to seeing them pop open every spring. This is also the time when Nathan starts all of his outdoor projects. Weston loves to help with these projects! They (with the help of Papa) have spent almost every weekend for the past month working outside. Here are some photos of spring around our house:

These are the daffodils that we planted when Honey came to stay with us for a week in November. Weston has been waiting forever for them to pop up. Every time it rained this winter he would say, "All the rain is going to make our daffodils grow!" They are finally here and he has been picking them like crazy.

Our plum trees

The blueberries have started growing. These are my favorite!

Weston and Nathan planted basil, dill, chives, and parsley for me to use in the kitchen. With all of my "free" time I have this year, I'm sure none of it will go to waste:)

The plants keep Weston busy, busy, busy! He doesn't mind watering them for hours as long as he can water himself in the process.

7 months old and St. Patrick's Day

Yesterday, Wyatt turned 7 months old and it was also St. Patrick's Day! I dressed both of the boys in green, even though I knew we were not going to leave the house :) Here are a few photos of the boys dressed in green:

We LOVE winter static!

Wyatt's allergies

A couple of weeks ago, I took Wyatt to an allergists to find out what he is allergic to. They had to draw blood from him because they don't do skin prick tests on babies. They tested Wyatt to see if he is allergic to wheat, eggs, cow's milk, fish, soy, and nuts. On Monday, I took Wyatt back to the allergist to find out the results of the tests. Wyatt is allergic to cow's milk and nuts. His nut allergy was a lot higher than the cow's milk which explains why he still has eczema and hives. I love peanut butter and I eat it almost every day. She also said that it looked like he may be sensitive to soy, but he is not allergic to it. Also, Wyatt's allergy antibodies were in the 200 range, whereas most babies his age are in the 40 range! She said that he will probably suffer from a lot of allergies. Poor baby! Anyway, now I am on a dairy free and nut free diet until I wean Wyatt. I also realize that I am going to have to make a lot of adjustments to our grocery list to accommodate Wyatt until he (hopefully) outgrows his food allergies. It is quite a learning experience!

Trap Demo

The other day, Nathan sent Weston to his room for a nap early because he was bothering Wyatt. Nathan told Weston that if he was lucky, he might read him a story in a few minutes.
Weston thought, "I'll show him!" He jumped on the opportunity to set up a booby trap for Nathan to "stumble into." When Nathan went to his room to read a story (like he really deserved it), Weston had placed several slippery books across his doorway. To hide the books, he covered them with stuffed animals and blankets. Nathan was supposed to "slip" on the books and fall down. This is a video of Weston explaining to me how it was supposed to work.

"I was afraid of sharks....

"...that's why I climbed in the sink"

"I can't get down because the ground is too far."
