We're Having a Boy!

We found out that we are having another boy! So Weston is going to have a little brother. Here is a 4D image of our baby. They said everything looks great and the baby is doing fine! We even saw him yawn while doing the sonogram.

When Weston looked at this photo he hugged it and said, "Oh, look at the cute baby! The baby is inside a rock!"

I will post more when I get a chance. Nathan has been really sick, so I have had to take care of two people lately.

What do you want for breakfast?

Every night Weston wants us to ask him what he wants for breakfast. If we don't, he gets really upset. He usually has a long list of what he wants to eat too. Here is a short video of him telling us what he wants for breakfast . His list changes all the time, but it ALWAYS includes milk. He loves his milk!

Translation: milk, applesauce, sausage, rock-n-roll(cinnamon roll), and lunch, sandwich, and sandwich, sandwich....

Enjoying Spring

We have been staying busy around here since the weather has been so nice. We are trying to get outside as much as possible before it gets too hot. I am too lazy to write several different posts, so I am wrapping everything into one post.

We've been busy gardening. Weston has been doing all of the watering.

We've been grilling and eating outside. Weston tried grilled salmon for the first time and loved it! He won't eat PB and Jelly, but he will eat an entire plate of salmon.

We have been meeting Nathan at the Riverwalk during lunch for picnics

We played minature golf with cousin Nolan

Weston road the go-carts for the first time at Adventure Crossing.

Butterflies

Last Tuesday our butterflies came out of their chrysalises, so there was a lot of excitement around here. Weston loved the butterflies and kept trying to talk to them and kiss them.

Stalling at Bedtime

Weston has started coming up with creative ways to stay awake at bedtime. All of sudden he has to poo poo on the potty when we put him to bed. Sometimes he requests a book while he is "trying" to go to the bathroom. During the day, Weston NEVER offers to go #2 on the potty. He is still terrified of the whole process and will have a meltdown if we even suggest that he go #2 on the toilet. So we know that he is just tricking us, but sometimes we let him think he has outsmarted us.

Coffee Break

Today Weston put on his construction worker hat and said to me, "Get a coffee break." I asked him to repeat what he said because I was surprised to hear him say this. Never in our life have Nathan and I have ever said, "Get a coffee break." He repeated the same phrase and I couldn't help but laugh. To hear this come out of your two year old's mouth is quite funny. After laughing, I tried to figure out where he heard that phrase. Well, I finally figured out where he heard the term "coffee break." In the New York version of the Gingerbread Boy story, there is a scene where the gingerbread boy runs into a group of construction workers. The construction workers say to the gingerbread boy, "You're just the snack for our coffee break."
Anyway, I thought it was funny for him to remember that particular line from the book.

Playing Fire Hose

Weston and I have been loving the weather lately. We went outside to water the plants on Monday and he managed to talk me into giving him the water hose. I let him try watering the plants and then refused to give the hose back to me! He said, "No, I play fire hoses." That would have been fine with me if he were watering the plants. Instead, he watered himself. He stayed right in this spot for about 30 minutes letting the water run over his feet and legs.

A bee started chasing me so I screamed and ran inside the house. I hate bees! You can see it didn't phase Weston a bit! He stayed right in his spot. When I went back outside he said, "What's the matter mama? You so scared of the fire hose?"

Caterpillars

I have been documenting the life cycle of a butterfly for a school project and I have kept it a secret from Weston. We have had caterpillars crawling around a pot of cabbage for a month, but Weston has failed to notice them. The caterpillars have been sitting right on the kitchen table and he has never spotted them. They blend right in with the cabbage. I never told him about the caterpillars because I wasn't sure if he would hurt them or not. He is definitely not afraid to touch things. I finally told him about them a couple of days ago when I felt it was safe. I was surprised at how gentle he was with them. He talked to them for a good 10 or 15 minutes. He even asked them if they wanted some Cheerios.
As of yesterday, all of the caterpillars have formed their chrysalises and should be changing into butterflies within the next week. I can't wait to see his reaction to the butterflies.

This is a video of Weston showing Nana the chrysalis.

Freckles

After a few days of warm weather, Weston is getting the cutest little freckles across his face.

Spiderman Quad

Last week Nana and Papa took Weston to Walmart to pick out a toy. They said he was having trouble picking out a toy, so they chose something for him. They came home with a Spiderman quad. I thought that was a pretty nice toy for him! Now that he has his quad, he thinks he has permission to drive all over the place. He hops on it and says, "I go see Nana and Papa."

Nana and Papa, thanks for the Spiderman quad!

What do we do on a rainy day?

Yesterday it rained all day! We made the most of the nasty weather by keeping busy in the house.

We made cinnamon rolls.

spreading the butter

sprinkling cinnamon

you can never have too much sugar

Weston calls them "rock-n-rolls" instead of cinnamon rolls.

He also built a firetruck with Daddy.

We had a nice rainy day!

Time Out!

These photos sum up what has been going on around here the last couple of weeks-Terrible Twos! Weston has been visiting time out quite a bit lately. I used to send Weston to his room for time out, but he has been going so frequently that it has been impossible to walk him upstairs every time he is in trouble. I have designated places all over the house for him now. I couldn't resist posting photos of our terrible two in time out.
