Haircut

Nathan and Weston both needed a haircut so I decided to give them one at the same time. I have been cutting Nathan's hair for at least six years and I now have another head of hair to cut! This will be Weston's fourth haircut. The first time we cut his hair I cried so hard! He does pretty well getting a haircut although I can never finish it in one sitting. We gave him a Hershey Kiss to keep him busy. He will take at least 10 minutes to eat it! I had to finish the front of his hair with the scissors after his bath.

Water Hose Fun!

On Wednesday, I decided to rinse the inch thick pollen that has accumulated on my car over the past week. If there is water involved, Weston wants to be part of it. I don't know how many times a week Weston manages to get wet. Right, Nana and Papa? He will find the smallest puddle anywhere and make a mess. Today was no different. He ran under the water hose the entire time I was rinsing my car. I gave in and handed him the hose when I was finished. The water was so cold!

Sneaking Chocolate

Last night we were sitting in the living room when Weston ventured into the kitchen by himself. It is not unusual for him to wander into kitchen to play with some of his toys. Nathan and I heard him playing with his fridge toys but we heard a crackling sound soon after. Nathan and I looked at each other and said "What is he doing?". I thought he was getting in the trash. Well, I found Weston in the corner of the kitchen eating chocolate chips in the dark! On the floor were two bags of chocolate chips, potatoes, and chips. When he saw me he said, "MMMMMM!" as loud as he could say it. He is finally tall enough to reach the knobs of the only cabinet in our kitchen that doesn't have a safety latch. Weston had been asking me to get him a marshmallow out of the cabinet several times yesterday. He must have been searching for the marshmallows but he came across the chocolate instead.

How can you get mad at this?

Weston was trying to gobble up as many chocolate chips as he could before Nathan cleaned up his mess.

Getting the last two pieces left on the floor!

A mouthful of chocolate!

Easter

Easter 2007

I could not resist posting
his Easter photo from last year. Look at those cheeks!

Bunny Ears

Weston found his Easter basket after breakfast. He dug through his basket to see what he could find. He was mostly excited about the cookies.

For lunch we ate at my parents house and then we had another easter egg hunt in their backyard. Weston didn't even try to find any eggs this time. He just wanted to run around the yard as usual.

A Visit From Grandma and Grandpa Evans

Saturday morning we got a call from Nathan's parents saying that they were coming to visit. We haven't seen them in a couple of months so it was a nice surprise. They arrived soon after the egg hunt at our church. Weston would not take a nap after the hunt so he was wound up and excited. We could not believe how much he was showing off for them! Here are a few photos that I took when they first arrived.

Egg Hunt at the Church

We had an exciting Easter weekend. On Saturday, we went to our church for lunch and an Easter egg hunt. Weston tried to participate in the egg race which requires you to balance an egg on a spoon. Of course he didn't balance his egg, but he did run with the other kids. Mostly, he just got in the way. The other kids had to dodge him because he kept running in front of them.

Going right through the middle of the race.

He dropped his raw egg several times but it never cracked!

Tammy and Ray

Then he participated in the egg hunt. He did pick up a few eggs but he was more interested in trying to open them to see what was inside.

He was trying to steal from his cousins' baskets.

After the egg hunt we took a train ride. He was so sleepy!

A Weekend Outdoors

This weekend we spent most of our time outdoors. Weston loves to be outside and doesn't seem content to stay inside anymore. Two weeks ago, we gave our dog away to a nice family so we are finally able to enjoy our backyard. It was so nice to let Weston run around without our Great Dane trying to kiss to him. Weston has asked about our dog but how quickly they forget. He has already made friends with the neighbor's pugs. He enjoys trying to feed them pine cones.

We also took a walk at the swamp this weekend. We got to see a river otter, ducks, turtles, birds, and a huge snake!

Walking made him really thirsty! He had to drink all of Nana's bottled water.

Seeing Stars

Weston has been saying the word "star" for the past couple of months. He started out saying the word correctly(minus the r sound) but it has evolved over time. It has now turned into a throat gargling sound. I suspect it is his attempt at making the r sound. I laugh so hard every time he says "star"! You will hear why in the video.

In the video, he appears to be looking at a star and moon on his ceiling. There are no stars or moons in his room other than the one on his lamp. Perhaps he is just waiting for them to fall out of the sky. Who knows?

Feeding the Ducks with Dad

We met Nathan for lunch today and decided to take Weston to the Riverwalk so he could feed the ducks our leftovers. He fed the ducks all right! After watching Nathan throw bread, he decided to toss them his milk!

Here is his milk!
